    Fabric Technologist


    Location: Camden (Hybrid – 2 days from home, 3 in the office)
    Reporting to: Technical and Ethical Manager

    About the Role:
    We're looking for a Fabric Technologist to join the Damson Madder Technical Team. You'll become a key part in all product areas at Damson Madder to ensure delivered products meet the high quality standard of the designs. 

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    Work across all product lines – Clothing, Accessories, Homeware and Lifestyle 

    Manage all fiber compositions in the critical path 

    Wash Care label instructions and approvals 

    Analyse test reports for all product, ensuring all reports are received before shipment 

    Be responsible for all sustainable certification and SCOPE transaction certs 

    Maintain Oeko-teks and other chemical compliance certification records, and have a core understanding on chemical compliance 

    Upkeep and update the testing manual regularly 

    Research and review testing protocols and compliance against the countries we deliver product into 

    Manage wholesale partner requests on testing and sustainable certification 

    Streamline core fabrications and trims across product areas, reducing testing where needed 

    Move all trims sources to responsible sources in line with Buying teams costings 

    Work with Design to source new responsible fabrications and trims 

    Map fabric mills alongside Technical and Ethical Manager to elevate visibility

      Qualifications & Skills:

      • Previous experience within the position of Fabric Technologist 

      In depth knowledge across all fabric bases, strong denim and knit knowledge would be an advantage

      Comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of fabric and trim manufacturing including dyeing/finishing, printing techniques, embroidery and wash processes.

      • A strong understanding of new fabric innovations and development, with an interest in relevant technologies and responsible fabrics 

      • Able to manage and rectify failures in a time sensitive frame, ensuring high quality standards are maintained.

      • Good reporting skills within excel and data management 

      • Team player in a small team and growing business, with excellent communication level

                  About the Role:

                  We’re looking for a Denim Designer to join the Damson Madder Design team. This role focuses on designing multiproduct denim across our range. A technical understanding and passion for all things denim is key, as well as keeping in line with current trends. Alongside designing denim there is potential to design Outerwear or another category within the brand.


                   

                  Key Responsibilities

                   

                  • Developing an innovative and commercial range of denim to meet business requirements and propel the denim offering of the brand

                  • Designing products which exceed the customers’ expectations of the brand, whilst remaining commercial in approach.

                  • An ability to demonstrate an understanding of  production capabilities and techniques in order to successfully facilitate design execution.

                  • Working collaboratively with the Creative Director to design the denim range 

                  • Designing products with an awareness of product technicalities, price architecture, margins and factory capabilities. 

                  • Working closely with the wider design team on trends, colour palettes and creative vision

                  • Working with the buying team to define the collections and to produce them to reflect the concept whilst ensuring commerciality. 

                  • Working with the Senior buyer with exceptional sourcing skills across all needs of your product.

                  • Working with the technical department fitting samples to production.

                  • Keeping abreast of current season sales and create fast-react product in season to meet demands.

                  • Working collaboratively with the wider design team.

                   

                  Requirements

                  • Minimum 3 years experience as a Denim Designer. 

                  • Experience in Outerwear would be beneficial but not essential.

                  • Detailed orientated from concept stage through to specs and final designs.

                  • CAD and tech pack proficiency.

                  • Strong technical knowledge of washes, construction, fabric and fit.

                  • Proven track record of delivering in season product.

                  • Proven ability of managing internal relationships and communications.

                  • Proven track record of fitting garments to a high commercial standard.

                  • Excellent commercial acumen with the ability to identify new opportunities with exceptional communication and presentation skills at all levels.

                  • Experience working with a global supply base across key vendors and mills.

                  • Confident communicator and very well organised.

                  • Awareness of sustainability and driving this within the business; sourcing innovative fabrics and trims through to designing for longevity.

                  • Passion and enthusiasm for the brand with vision to support the design team to push the brand forward

                      Wholesale Sales Executive

                      About the Role:

                      We are seeing a highly organised and proactive Wholesale Sales Executive to join our team. You will support the Wholesale Manager in overseeing global in-house accounts and agents, ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the department both during and outside of the selling season. This role offers a unique chance to join a brand on an exciting growth trajectory. The ideal candidate will enjoy a high level of autonomy and gain invaluable experience, making it an exceptional opportunity for personal and professional development. 

                       

                      Key Responsibilities

                       

                      Provide support to the Wholesale Manager across all accounts and agent relationships.

                      Collaborate on strategy development and target-setting.

                      Conduct market research and evaluate potential new clients, including organising store trainings and planning sales trips.

                      Manage the market calendar and attend appointments. 

                      Assist with showroom organisation and setup

                      • Input orders for both market and re-orders.

                      • Analyze sell-through data and identify re-order opportunities. 

                      • Provide administrative support and reporting throughout the season.

                      Coordinate with finance and logistics teams to ensure smooth payments and timely deliveries.

                      • Keep external agents updated with relevant information and materials.

                      • Participate in regular calls with agents to maintain alignment.

                      Handle queries from customers and agents promptly and professionally.

                       

                      Qualifications & skills

                       

                      • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a comparable role.

                      Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure.

                      Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with internal systems, ideally Zedonk and Joor.

                      Solid understanding of sell-through analysis.

                      Excellent attention to detail.

                      Experience working with stock and managing inventory.

                      Proven experience in client-facing roles.

                      • Forward-thinking with strong planning skills.

                      In-depth knowledge of the industry and market trends.

                      Problem-solving mindset with determination to deliver results.

                      Positive attitude and a proactive, “can-do” approach.

                      Proficiency in another language (ideally Italian) is desirable but not required.

                          Freelance Homeware Designer

                          About the Role:

                          We are looking for an experienced Homeware product designer for a special project to start as soon as possible. We anticipate the project to last 2-3 months and likely to consist of 1-3 days per week. The fee will be on a project basis.

                           

                          The Ideal Candidate

                           

                          • Must have experience across multi home product (textiles included).

                          • Must be able to CAD, Spec and conceptualise.

                          • Spearhead in-depth trend research and integrate findings to create designs that resonate with both current and new audiences.

                          Coordinate with team and collaborators to streamline the process from concept to finished product. 

                          Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. 

                          Must be able to work from office in Camden at times.
