Truly MASSIVE

"I understand it’s supposed to fit oversized, but this is actually clownish. I’m a US size 16 pretty universally (5’3”, 215 lbs, apple shaped). I ordered this in a UK14 (US10). It’s still laughably massive on me. Just exchanged for another 2 whole sizes down. Fingers crossed this one works out, bc the coat IS very pretty otherwise. I will say, I’m pretty disappointed w. the fabric makeup, though. They keep touting this as a wool coat. It’s only 53% wool (just enough to push it over the majority so they could call it “wool”, it seems). The rest is all plastic. For such expensive investment pieces, you’d think the quality would be up to snuff. The only reason I’m making this purchase is bc I was gifted a different DM product that, of course, was also far too large, so I have store credit. Otherwise I probably would have just made the return for the money instead of an exchange. The quality for the price being charged simply is not there."

strangers stop me in the street!

"I've not gone a single day without attracting compliments on this coat - people stop me on the street, in supermarkets, I even had someone race across a car park to tell me how much they love my coat! I am a super petite woman in my 40's, barely 5 foot 1 and size UK4. . . I could only get an 8 in this (had to try my luck) fine if you want to size down 2 sizes but I sized UP(!!) and never regretted it."

"I love this coat!! I did order a UK 14 and it was huge but was able to exchange it for a UK 8. It is still a little oversized but great for layering. Would have been great if DM had included product measurements for each size. The quality of the coat is really wonderful, especially for the price. Perfect for winter in NYC especially with the single digit temps lately."

Go 1-2 sizes down

"This is my new favourite jacket. Everyone is right- it’s massive if you get your normal size. I got one size down from my top size, two sizes down from my bottom size. I would’ve gotten two sizes down from my top, but I have a much larger bottom and wanted it to still have room. Fits as a nice cosy, not weird-looking oversized fit. If you’re same size on top and bottom go for two sizes down for a normal oversized fit. The quality is fantastic and it feels really special"

"I contacted Damson and Madder to ask about sizing and measurements of the garments after reading the comments and couldn’t be happier with my purchase. I usually wear a 16, but they recommended sizing down one or two sizes. I went with a 12, and it fits perfectly. It’s very oversized, which I love, and the quality and details are gorgeous."

I sized up! Am a petite UK size 4/6

"Im a petite size UK 4/6 and I would have gotten the 6 but due to people sizing down I could only get an 8 - its fab 👌 I may still try get a 6, if it becomes available. But the 8 is also ok, so I would advise that if you are looking for a fit like the model (regardless of your body shape or 'size') you should feel comfortable going for your regular size. Amazing colour and shape, beautiful finish in details."
