DESIGNED IN LONDON, MADE TO LAST.

Damson Madder was founded with a clear intention: to create bold, distinctive fashion — thoughtfully and responsibly. At the heart of our brand lies a commitment to conscious design, ongoing transparency, and considered production.

Led by a tight-knit, proudly female-run team in North London, Damson Madder was born in 2020, the brainchild of our founder Emma. After years in the industry, Emma witnessed firsthand the environmental and ethical costs that can come with fashion brands and set out to build something better.

We know that our industry comes with inherent challenges. The path to sustainability is ongoing, and we’re constantly evolving to ensure our practices reduce harm — to both people and the planet.

At the centre of everything, is quality. Every Damson Madder piece is crafted to endure, to be worn, loved, and reworn. Our hope is that through considered design and intentional production, our garments become long-standing fixtures in your wardrobe — never destined for landfill, but made to last.

Exciting design, enduring quality, conscious production.

INTENTIONAL FROM START TO FINISH

Every Damson Madder piece begins 12 to 18 months before it reaches your wardrobe. We work slowly and deliberately — refining design, nurturing long-term relationships with our factories and suppliers, and perfecting quality and fit. Our garments are made to last. Rather than chasing trends, we focus on form, function, and thoughtful detail — creating pieces that flatter, feel special, and are meant to be worn again and again.

DESIGNED FOR LONGEVITY

Our approach begins at the design stage — where every detail is considered with longevity in mind. We create versatile pieces intended to be worn in multiple ways, season after season.

We continuously refine our materials, prioritising improved, lower-impact fibres that stand the test of time. By designing with durability and adaptability at the core, we aim to minimise waste before a garment is even made.

AT A GLANCE.

We’re constantly improving our responsible fibre base, working towards a future where every material is sourced with integrity. Our goal is to reduce the use of recycled polyester and instead focus on fibres that are 100% responsibly sourced. We believe that true sustainability starts with the materials we choose. By continuously refining our sourcing practices, we aim to reduce our impact and create products that stand the test of time.

OVER 90% OF THE COTTON WE USE IS ORGANIC, WITH RECYCLED COTTON AS OUR MINIMUM ALTERNATIVE.

MORE THAN 80% OF THE FIBRES IN OUR PRODUCTS ARE RESPONSIBLY SOURCED.

OVER 70% OF OUR VISCOSE IS DERIVED FROM SUSTAINABLY MANAGED FORESTS.

100% OF OUR PRODUCTS ARE FREE FROM HARMFUL CHEMICALS
, AND CERTIFIED BY OEKO-TEX.

LENZING™ ECOVERO™

We support eco-conscious materials, and are continuing to increase the use of LENZING™ ECOVERO™ fibre in our styles. This is a certified material derived from sustainable wood and pulp and Lenzing has been consistently recognized as one of the best performing companies worldwide in Canopy’s Hot Button Report.

LENZING™ ECOVERO™ compared to uncertified lyocell uses at least 50% less water and produces CO2 air emissions, reducing the impact on climate change.

ORGANIC COTTON

Cotton makes up the vast majority of our collections, and so it’s crucial that we use the most responsible cotton we can in every garment.

All organic cotton used in our collections is GOTS certified. Organic cotton uses 88% less water, and 62% less energy, and it's made without the use of harmful chemicals and pesticides; protecting both the air and the soil it’s produced in; greatly reducing its negative impact on the local biodiversity.  Because organic cotton is made with more care and attention, the end result is softer, and often more durable than conventional cotton garments; as cotton fibres can be damaged by the chemicals added during harvest and processing.  This means your organic cotton pieces are made to last, extending the life cycle of every garment.

RECYCLED MATERIALS

Outside of cotton, we also use recycled fibres.

Our aim is to deliver the highest possible percentage of recycled contents in every garment, without sacrificing the quality of each style.

We use a mix of post-consumer waste (e.g. used garments) and industrial waste within our recycled contents.

RESPONSIBLE WOOL

We're introducing longer lasting fibres across our ranges, most importantly Responsible Wool. The Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) is a voluntary standard that requires all sites, from wool farms to the seller in the final business-to-business transaction, to be certified.

RWS farmers and ranchers are evaluated against animal welfare, land management, and social requirements.

TRIMS, TAGS & PACKAGING

We have removed non-essential metal trims and rivets across all of our denim products, to eliminate unnecessary barriers to biodegrading. We also use embroidery for branding where possible to minimise non-compostable trims.

All of our back neck labels and care labelling will be 100% recycled by 2024. Our garment swing tags are made from 100% recycled cardboard and your Damson pieces are shipped to you in 100% recycled paper mailing bags, with the garments inside housed safely in compostable poly bags.

SELVEDGE DENIM

Our Selvedge jeans use Italian fabric that is created on traditional shuttle looms. The process is slower and achieves less waste. Selvedge gets its name from its “self-edge”: the finished edges that do not fray - you can spot a selvedge fabric by the edge of the fabric showing on the inseam.

Selvedge denim is less treated and as you wear them, the jeans will become entirely your own. The denim will soften to fit to your body, and crease in wash the more you wear.

FACTORY PARTNERS

Our factory partners are an extension of our team, and we have worked hard to build strong, long-term relationships with all our global suppliers. We work with sixteen key supply partners across Türkiye, China and India.

We are lucky enough to have a part of our team based in Türkiye who conduct weekly visits to our factory partners there.  Globally, all our factories are audited regularly by a third party, with audits being conducted both semi-announced and unannounced.

We believe in full transparency; and as such, our factory partners are published on the Open Supply Hub - a collaborative database used by retailers building visibility around their global supply chain.  We have mapped out all our Tier 1 and 2 facilities, and are working on publishing Tier 3 and 4 by the end of 2025.

We are also signatories to the Transparency Pledge alongside other retailers, to further uphold our values of visibility and transparent business practices.

CODE OF CONDUCT

Alongside our third party audits, our partner factories must all adhere to the Damson Madder code of conduct which lays out the basic foundations that all partners must comply with.  We aim to ensure that the rights of workers in our supply chain are respected and protected. Prohibition of all forms of modern slavery, including child labour, forced labour, bonded labour and the protection of human rights is fundamental to who Damson Madder are and what Damson Madder stands for. This forms a key part of Damson Madder’s Code of Conduct.

Employment is freely chosen

Freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining are respected

Working conditions are safe and hygienic

No discrimination is practised

Regular employment is provided

No harsh or in-humane treatment is allowed

Child labour shall never be used

CHARITY PARTNERS

Alongside our commitment to responsible design and thoughtful production, we’re dedicated to supporting the causes and communities that matter to us. We focus on long-term, meaningful partnerships with charities, contributing a portion of sales from key calendar moments — including our annual Black Friday and Cyber Monday promotions.

We also create bespoke, non-profit collections to mark moments that align with our values, such as International Women’s Day — raising funds and awareness for causes close to our hearts.

Our goal goes beyond simply raising funds. We strive to build meaningful relationships with our charity partners — rooted in connection, collaboration, and community.

Where possible, we get involved at a grassroots level, whether through team volunteering, hosting workshops, or supporting hands-on projects.

Our current charity partner is Wen, the Women’s Environmental Network.  Wen. is an environmental charity working on issues that connect women, health, equity and environmental justice. Wen takes an intersectional feminist approach to tackling the climate and nature emergencies.

Wen supports women and communities to take action, amplifying racialised and marginalised women’s voices, and advocates for change.
