Loved coat-disappointing packaging

"I loved the coat especially the quality of the design and fabric. It looks so unique with lovely detail. The most shocking and disappointing part of opening the parcel was the poor presentation of the coat. It was in a cheap plastic bag and so wrinkled that I had to spend a long time carefully pressing the creases from it. Other cheaper high street brands post garments boxed with tissue and arrive with very little creasing. I think some thought should go into the packaging considering the cost of the garment."

Poorly stitched

"I bought this for a weeklong trip. Three buttons fell immediately after wearing it just a few times. I don’t understand how this could’ve happened on such an expensive item."

Beautiful coat, but cheap material?

"Size: UK10 Height: 155cm Usual size: UK6-8 I bought this coat in April 2025 in the size UK 8, and after a year I decided that I wanted to size up. The first thing I noticed when the jacket arrived was that the fabric felt more flimsy than the one I previously bought? A little more shiny and thinner. Maybe Damson has switched factories that produce their clothes, I don’t know. The colourful side on the new one is also brighter than the old one. Also, there are still some loose threads and loosely sewed on buttons that will probably fall off and need manual sewing. For the price point, that’s quite disappointing. I would recommend that you size up one size if you want the jacket to have room for layering. The jacket I had in UK8 was a bit tight around the shoulders, so with a jumper (cashmere or wool, nothing too thick) on underneath it became kind of uncomfortable to wear. So I would recommend sizing up if you’re going to wear something more than a t-shirt or thin longsleeves underneath! It does look slightly long on me now in UK10, but I think that’s worth it for more room at the shoulders."

Beautiful coat but be wary of buttons!

"Love this coat but shocked how badly the buttons were sewn on as they all began falling off after the first wear. I had to stitch them all on myself- not what I wanted after paying this much"

Disappointing quality for the price

"I bought the Mercedes Bow Reversible Trench as a birthday gift, purchasing well in advance due to limited stock. When it was finally gifted and worn for the first time, the top button was already loose and another button fell off completely almost immediately. For an item at this price point, this level of quality control is disappointing. I contacted customer service and was offered a free repair, which I appreciate as a gesture, but I don’t think it’s reasonable to expect a brand-new, premium item to need repairing before it’s even properly worn. Personally, I would have expected a replacement rather than being asked to send it off to be fixed. It’s put me off purchasing again, as I don’t want to worry whether future items will have the same issues."

Perfect

"This is the best jacket I have ever owned, I love it, it’s so cute!"

Lovely design but not well made

"I really loved this coat and wanted it for ages, so was very excited when it was back in stock. It was very creased when it arrived so I had to iron it for it to look nice. A button also instantly fell off on first wear. I did expect higher quality for the price point so do feel slightly let down."

Poor Quality

"I loved this coat when delivered but very soon after the buttons fell off while i was out and also the bow . I reached out to company to see would they send me replacement bow and buttons and they replied that they don't have any bows or replacement buttons. Honestly for a expensive coat this really is bad form on part of company. I'll certainly not be buying from them again or more importantly will be spreading the word. Adrienne"

Great style, great coat!

"I love this coat, the material is good quality, heavy but not too heavy but it's the attention to detail that puts it above the rest. Love the ribbons at the back of both sides of the coat and the DM initials and the three rows at the bottom - it all shouts quality!! My first purchase and it won't be my last!!"

— Louise M. (5/5)

LOVE!

"I’ve been eyeing this coat for a while and was so happy to see it was back in stock!!! So inpressed with the fast shipping too - it only took 2 entire business days for the coat to arrive from the UK to Australia after payment. Being a garment maker myself, I would say the quality is generally very good; not many loose threads, keyhole buttonholes for extra strength, concealed button placket, print matching for gingham side is good. The horizontal pleats on the side don’t 100% match up but it’s not too noticable. The best part is that the bows on the back of each side is detachable with buttons!"
