      Junior Designer - Non Clothing

      Accessories, bags & homeware


      Location: Camden (Hybrid – 2 days from home, 3 in the office)
      Reporting to: Creative Director / Senior Designer

      Damson Madder was born out of a desire to make exciting designs, responsibly. Run by a small, proudly female-led team in North London; where the brand was created in 2020, and is still based.       About the Role:
      We’re looking for a Non-Clothing Designer to join the Damson Madder team.
      You will be responsible for Designing the accessories, bags and homeware range for Damson Madder. A technical understanding and passion for all things Non-Clothing is key, as well as keeping in line with current trends & coming up with new ideas to drive the range forward. Our Categories currently include Bags, Cold Weather Accessories, Hair Accessories, Socks, Hats, Sunglasses, Ceramics, Soft Homewares.

       

      Key Responsibilities:
      • Developing an innovative and commercial Non-Clothing range to meet business
      requirements and propel the offering of the brand
      • Designing products which exceed the customers’ expectations of the brand, whilst
      remaining commercial in approach
      • An ability to demonstrate an understanding of  production capabilities and techniques in order to successfully facilitate design execution
      • Working collaboratively with the Creative Director to design the Non-Clothing range 
      • Designing products with an awareness of product technicalities, price architecture, margins and factory capabilities
      • Working closely with the wider design team on trends, colour palettes and creative vision
      • Working with the Senior Buyer to define the collections and to produce them to reflect the brand concept, whilst ensuring commerciality
      • Working with the technical department fitting samples to production
      • Keeping abreast of current season sales and create fast-react product in season to meet demands
      • Working collaboratively with the wider design buying team

       
      Requirements:
      • Minimum 2 years’ experience designing Non-Clothing – Now being at Assistant Designer Level (or recently promoted Junior Designer)
      • Experience Designing Premium Leather Bags & Sunglasses would be beneficial but not essential
      • Detailed orientated from concept stage through to specs and final designs
      • CAD and tech pack proficiency
      • Strong technical knowledge of construction, fabric and fit
      • Proven track record of delivering in season product
      • Proven ability of managing internal relationships and communications
      • Proven track record of fitting garments to a high commercial standard
      • Excellent commercial acumen with the ability to identify new opportunities with exceptional communication and presentation skills at all levels
      • Experience working with a global supply base across key vendors and mills
      • Confident communicator and very well organised
      • Awareness of sustainability and driving this within the business; sourcing innovative fabrics and trims through to designing for longevity
      • Passion and enthusiasm for the brand with vision to support the design team to push the brand forward

      We’re looking for a Junior Clothing Designer to join the Damson Madder team.
      You will be responsible for helping design the wovens, jersey and outerwear range for Damson Madder. A technical understanding and passion for all things clothing is key, as well as keeping in line with current trends & coming up with new ideas to drive the range forward. 

       

      Key Responsibilities:
      • Designing products which exceed the customers’ expectations of the brand, whilst
      remaining commercial in approach
      • An ability to demonstrate an understanding of production capabilities and techniques in order to successfully facilitate design execution
      • Working collaboratively with the Creative Director and Senior Designer to help design the range across multiple product categories
      • Designing products with an awareness of product technicalities, price architecture, margins and factory capabilities
      • Working closely with the wider design team on trends, colour palettes and creative vision
      • Working with the Senior Buyer to define the collections and to produce them to reflect the brand concept, whilst ensuring commerciality
      • Working with the technical department fitting samples to production
      • Keeping abreast of current season sales and create fast-react product in season to meet demands
      • Working collaboratively with the wider design buying team

       
      Requirements:
      • Minimum 3 years’ experience designing clothing.
      • Experience designing wovens would be beneficial but not essential.
      • Detailed orientated from concept stage through to specs and final designs.

      • Proficient in Adobe creative suite. 

      • Strong ability in technical drawings and CAD design.
      • Strong technical knowledge of construction, fabric and fit
      • Proven track record of delivering in season product
      • Proven ability of managing internal relationships and communications
      • Proven track record of fitting garments to a high commercial standard
      • Excellent commercial acumen with the ability to identify new opportunities with exceptional communication and presentation skills at all levels
      • Experience working with a global supply base across key vendors and mills
      • Confident communicator and very well organised
