Our Fabrics

At the centre of everything, is quality.

Damson Madder garments are designed to last; to be worn and reworn - we hope that the care that goes into every garment ensures that Damson pieces aren't bought for one occasion and then discarded, ending up in landfill.

Recycled Cotton

Outside of cotton, we also use recycled fibres. Our aim is to deliver the highest possible percentage of recycled contents in every garment, without sacrificing the quality of each style. We use a mix of post-consumer waste (e.g. used garments) and industrial waste within our recycled contents.

Laser Technique

Lasers are used to burn off the dye, creating design effects without the use of water, stones, or chemicals. Using laser technology is faster and waterless.
With laser, we are able to get a precision design such as our Iconic bow motif which we wouldn't be able to achieve just through washing.

Organic Cotton

All organic cotton in our collections is GOTS certified, using 88% less water and 62% less energy, and is grown without harmful chemicals or pesticides. This protects both the environment and local biodiversity while ensuring the cotton is softer and more durable. The careful production process also extends the lifespan of each garment, making them longer-lasting than conventional cotton.

Indigo Denim

Indigo is the rawest form of denim, and uses the least amount of water and treatments vs all other wash techniques. This type of denim can be found in a range of our styles including our Sylvie Jean, Dion jean, Nova Shacket, Shell top & Sailor Jacket. Due to the nature of this wash, colour transfer can occur so please be mindful of this when pairing with light colours.

LENZING™ ECOVERO™ Lyocell

We support eco-consious materials, and are continuing to increase the use of LENZING™ ECOVERO™ fibre in our styles. This is a certified material derived from sustainable wood and pulp and Lenzing has been consistently recognised as one of the best performing companies worldwide in Canopy’s Hot Button Report. LENZING™ ECOVERO™ compared to uncertified lyocell uses at least 50% less water and CO2 air emissions, reducing the impact on climate change.

Deadstock Selvedge

Our Selvedge jeans use Italian fabric that is created on traditional shuttle looms. The process is slower and achieves less waste. Selvedge gets its name from its “self-edge”: the finished edges that do not fray - you can spot a selvedge fabric by the edge of the fabric showing on the inseam. Selvedge denim is less treated and as you wear them, the jeans will become entirely your own. The denim will soften to fit to your body, and crease in wash the more you wear.

No Rivets

We replace the use of metal rivets on all our styles, with bartack stitching. This eliminates any additional metal which cannot be decomposed

How We Make Our Denim

Our denim is designed at least 12 months ahead of launch. We move slowly, taking the time to develop our products, build strong, mutually respectful relationships with suppliers and factories, and ensure the very best quality and fit of every garment we produce; Damson jeans are built to last, fit and flatter; each with a unique detail or sign off that makes every piece feel special. Our denim is made to be worn again, and again (and again!)

Who makes our product

Our factory partners

Our factory partners are an extension of our team, and we have worked hard to build strong, long-term relationships with all our global suppliers. We work with key supply partners across Turkey.

We are lucky enough to have a part of our team based in Turkey who conduct weekly visits to our factory partners there. Globally, all our factories are audited regularly by a third party, with audits being conducted both semi-announced and unannounced.

We believe in full transparency, and as such our factory partners are published on the Open Supply Hub - a collaborative database used by retailers building visibility around their global supply chain. We have mapped out all our Tier 1 and 2 facilities, and are working on publishing Tier 3 and 4 by the end of 2025.

We are also signatories to the Transparency Pledge alongside other retailers, to further uphold our values of visibility and transparent business practices.
